What to Expect

What to wear?

Come as you are. We at Charlotte International Church (CIC) care about you – not what you wear.  Feel free to dress comfortably. You'll notice some people do come in their "Sunday best," while others will arrive in their jeans.  Dress leans more toward business-casual; however, you may find anything from khakis to gray suits, flip flops or sneakers.  There is no specific dress code for our service – the key is to come as you are. We would love to meet you!

What about the Music?

The music we sing at CIC is a blend of old and new songs. Although our worship service may be considered “contemporary,” we love the doctrinally rich hymns sung throughout church history and we find blessing in the choruses of present day.

While at CIC, most of us who were comfortable with one particular style of music have discovered that we enjoy other genres we had not previously encountered. We encourage congregational singing, which emphasizes the gathered body singing praise to God with one voice.

Although this eclectic approach may be different from what you are accustomed to, we are a church that is committed to setting aside differences about worship style and tradition to embrace the full range of Christian expression. Our vision is to unite Christians from all different backgrounds!

Will I be asked to give money?

Members of CIC willingly support the financial needs of the ministry.  As a visitor you will not be expected to monetarily support the ministry.  Everyone is free to give as God has purposed in his or her heart.

What's wrong with the traditional church?

We do not believe that there is anything wrong with traditional churches. People need to worship in a place that gives them a strong foundation in faith, meets their needs, and speaks their language. We live in a generation where some people have never been to a traditional church and therefore have no preference. Every culture and generation must take the timeless truths of the Bible and seek to communicate them in a way that connects with people. That's our goal.
