  3. I lost 50 lbs 25 years ago over a 3 month period, cycling 17 miles a day, every morning (I worked evenings). Much lower impact than running and you cover a lot more ground. All serious cyclists I've known are rails. I agree you don't need expensive equipment. I never liked clip-less pedals, don't use them now. Get and use a bicycle. Best invention ever created by man!

    3. check your posture, most people has a bad posture and they donot know it.
    it is still a huge underestimated source of actually a lot of problem.

  9. I used to run and I was having a lot of issues with my joints and tendons. So I could only go a mile some days even though I had the energy to go farther. I got a road bike a couple months ago and the best thing I ever did. I now can workout for 1-2 hours at a time with absolutely no issues with my joints. Best decision ever.

  10. Sorry to disagree with you but running is the best exercise you can do for lose weight and shape your body. Running should not hurt your knees after a run, if they hurt is because your are doing it wrong. To maximize your weight lost you just need to run 15 minutes in the morning and 15 minutes in the afternoon. But in reality if you want to lose weight it doesn't matter if is walking, running, cycling, swimming, etc. The important thing is that you do something that you enjoy and have fun so you don't quit after few weeks doing it.

  11. I don't have cycling pants. And today After a 50k ride, my but was like bended inwards. I was searching for some remaining parts, but they didn't make it . Now I get the 'invest in a cycling pants'. With pants you can fake that there is an existing but..

  13. I think you're right compared to running cycling is a lot safer for joints and can be maintained for longer duration usually. I prefer to run bare foot on grass and I do HIIT run/sprint drills, not really to loose weight. My long term endurance sport is skating, I seem to enjoy that, which can be important for weight-loss too finding something you enjoy, so cycling should work for you.
